Abstract: The importance of measuring food consumption in the pre-bait stage of pigs is of great consideration to make necessary strategic decisions, in order to obtain economic returns in the company. The analysis of results is complex, due to the number of variables involved in it. This work focuses on proposing a linear regression model that allows to confront in a practical and simple way the relation of the productive parameters in said stage. In this study, 5,753 piglets were analyzed divided into 3 groups, with an average age of 21 days, fed with commercial concentrate. The results showed that piglets that start this stage with weights less than 5.4 kg. they are more inefficient in weight gain and food conversion, in addition to being able to have a higher mortality, affecting the cost of production
