Procesos de educación informal en talleres artesanales: un estudio etnográfico sobre los artesanos carroceros del Carnaval Multicolor de la Frontera (Ipiales)

Abstract

Con el propósito de indagar otras formas de educación no convencionales desde el saber artesanal en el marco de lo festivo y carnavalero resulta imprescindible revisar desde una mirada crítica las diferentes características que identifican la educación formal en su máxima expresión: la escuela. El objetivo de este estudio de corte cualitativo con enfoque etnográfico es rastrear los procesos educativos informales creados en el taller de trabajo de los artesanos carroceros del Carnaval Multicolor de la Frontera de la ciudad de Ipiales, Nariño. El presente estudio se acerca a cinco artesanos que inscribieron su carroza para participar en el carnaval del año 2019. La etnografía, por su parte, acude a tres elementos conceptuales claves para entender dichas perspectivas educativas alternas a la escuela: 1) la educación informal, 2) la teoría del caos y 3) el sistema de objetos y de acciones propuesto por Milton Santos (2000). Así pues, desde el quehacer etnográfico se identifican aspectos educativos sugestivos como: la estrecha relación entre educación artesanal y familia, la importancia del taller de trabajo como lugar creativo y estimulante y el caos como elemento inherente a la producción y aprendizaje artesanal de los maestros carroceros.

To indagate new forms of education from the artisan knowledge in the framework of the festive and carnival is essential to review with a critical eye the different characteristics that identify formal education at its best: the school. The objective of this qualitative and ethnographical study is to trace the informal educational elements created in the workshop of the car bodyworkers of the Carnaval Multicolor de la Frontera in the city of Ipiales, Nariño. This study is about five artisans who registered their float to participate in the 2019 carnival. The ethnography, on the other hand, goes to three key conceptual elements to understand these alternate educational perspectives to the school: the informal education, the theory of the chaos, and the system of objects and actions proposed by Milton Santos (2000). From the ethnographic point of view, we find suggestive educational aspects such as a close relationship between craft education and family, the importance of workshops as a creative and stimulating place, and chaos as an inherent element in the production and artisan learning of the mentioned car bodyworkers.
