Cartografías reminiscentes: entre la ausencia y la presencia

Abstract

Como punto nuclear en esta obra está la muerte del padre, que se toma como referencia para a través de la figura arquetípica de este como guía, realizar un recorrido a partir de las intuiciones y memorias que se tienen de quien ya no está. Irrumpo en los principales lugares que él habitó para encarar lo que he perdido y responder la pregunta: ¿los recuerdos que tenemos pueden traer la presencia de una persona a nuestras vidas nuevamente? El medio para unir los conceptos dispersos de este recorrido, como la memoria, la realidad, la identidad, la presencia y el tiempo, nace tras el desarrollo de una materialidad que construí y que he nombrado “Membrana”, basada en la cartografía, que, desde su intención planimétrica, afín a conceptos como el plano terrenal y espiritual; me permite profundizar en el tema de las “barreras”, que durante el desarrollo de la obra se hacen evidentes, entendiéndose como límites que en este proceso serán representaciones oscilantes del pasado y presente. Utilizando el concepto de la “Membrana” como una superficie porosa, que permite el paso de cierta información mientras repele otras cosas, como un medio que genera una conexión, y a su vez señala las imposibilidades naturales al ser un elemento que actúa para separar una cosa de otra; la convierto en un objeto físico esencial para reconocer la ausencia y la presencia cartográficamente en el espacio de la obra. Las características de esta membrana, con orificios que continuamente cederán y se expandirán, hablan del paso del tiempo dilatando un espacio, y participan de una experiencia que crea la posibilidad de ver veladamente más allá. Ligado a esto, como segundo elemento ingresa la sal, que por medio de diferentes intervenciones se desmorona para volver a rehacerse según mi visión, como ejemplo de la fragilidad del ser humano en relación con la solidez del mundo físico. The means to unite the dispersed concepts of this journey, such as memory, reality, identity, presence and time, is born after the development of a materiality that I built and which I have named “Membrane”, based on cartography, which, from its planimetric intention, similar to concepts such as the plane earthly and spiritual; allows me to delve deeper into the topic of “barriers”, which during the development of the work are made evident, understood as limits that in this process They will be oscillating representations of the past and present. Using the concept of the “Membrane” as a surface porous, which allows the passage of certain information while repelling other things, as a medium that generates a connection, and in turn points out the natural impossibilities of being an element that acts to separate one thing from another; I turn it into a physical object essential to recognize absence and presence cartographically in the space of the work. The characteristics of this membrane, with holes that will continually give way and will expand, they speak of the passage of time dilating a space, and participate in an experience that creates the possibility of seeing veiled beyond. Linked to this, as a second element salt enters, which through different interventions is crumbles to be remade according to my vision, like example of the fragility of the human being in relation to solidity of the physical world.
