Abstract

STATE NECROPPRACTICES AGAINST FACES AND BODIES OF YOUNG PEOPLE WHO PROTEST: approach to the phenomenon of disability during the social outbreak of 2021 in Colombia. This investigative experience is the effort to build the analytical category that I have called disability, an intentional practice that was used by the State security forces to produce disability as a control mechanism over certain populations that protested during the social outbreak in Colombia due to possibilities of existence with dignity in the face of the inclement conditions of precariousness that they lived in. From this sociopolitical context, it was possible to read the contemporary violence that occurred in scenarios of social mobilization; devices for managing the power of the State based on the protection and assurance of life through the denial of it, “disciplinary mechanisms” (Castro E., 2004, page 13) such as punishment, torture and stigmatization derived of bodily injury were used to reduce and control populations that altered the social organism. To this end, this research conceptually traced disability from a metaphorical perspective that arises in the midst of a pandemic scenario caused by the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus called COVID-19. The actions that were deployed at a global level to safeguard and protect life from the anomaly produced by the virus, provided some structural elements in the way in which the theory and analysis that goes through the studied phenomenon were configured. Therefore, disability is narrated from the relationship of the natural body as an object of medical discourse to the political, in this sense the theoretical and analytical approaches of this research are developed in discursive and metaphorical terms. From a Hobbesian position (1651) he represented that great political body (leviathan) of the State altered by social protest due to a “virus” composed of generalized indignation, which required a biopolitical treatment of management, administration and social control to immunize the infected population (Esposito R., 2004). A kind of viral-biological exception that enabled the transition from biopower, “the power to make people live” (Foucault M., 2004), to its successor necropower (Mbembe, 2011), “device of death” to establish order and social control. . In this way, this research is theoretically conceptualized in terms of viral disease according to the incubation phases, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, treatment stages emerging from the immunization mechanisms. These phases of the disease provide a preamble to the last chapter of my thesis, conceptualized as the resolution of the virus; a process that determines the pathology of social protest from the lens and use of knowledge-power according to the perspective of treatment specialists: the first, Observations and Recommendations of the Working Visit of the IACHR to Colombia Carried out from 8 to 10 June 2021, presented by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, hereinafter (IACHR, 2021) and the second, Guarantees for Peaceful Demonstration and Control of Violent Actions, period April 28 to June 4, 2021, issued by the Ministry of National Defense of Colombia, from the methodology of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) proposed (Fairclough N., 1989.)
