dc.description.abstractEste trabajo busca aplicar el proceso de geopolimerización al bloque de suelo cemento (BSC), para obtener un bloque de suelo geopolimerizado (BSG), ya que la producción del primero, estabilizado con cemento y compactado manualmente, aunque constituye una alternativa de construcción de viviendas de bajo costo, alto valor agregado ambiental y cumple con las exigencias de las normas Icontec (NTC 5324), es considerado un sistema artesanal, lento y que no representa una opción estructural, dadas sus características físico-químicas. De otro lado, los geopolímeros procedentes de la reacción química conocida como geopolimerización, son materiales de alta dureza, tienen gran resistencia mecánica y son durables; pueden ser elaborados a partir de materias primas baratas y asequibles. Su endurecimiento se alcanza a las pocas horas, a temperaturas entre 50 y 80 grados Celsius. Esta opción integra el aprovechamiento del suelo (limo), material de bajo costo y alta calidad ambiental, y la producción química de bloques de alta resistencia, con menor impacto en comparación con los producidos empleando cemento Portland. Los BSG pueden convertirse en componentes favorecedores del desarrollo de ciudades sostenibles con explotación cada vez menor de sus recursos no renovables. Este trabajo da a conocer los resultados parciales de la investigación./ABSTRACT.The work seeks to apply the geopolymerization process to soil cement blocks (BSC) in order to create a geopolymerized soil blocks (BSG). The output of the first is stabilized with cement and compacted manually. Although the first (BSC) is a construction alternative for low cost, high environmental value houses and complies with the requirements of the rules of Icontec (NTC 5324), it is still considered a craft because the output of the first is stabilized with cement and compacted by hand. It is a slow process and does not represent a structural option, given its physicochemical characteristics. The geopolymers from the chemical reaction known as geopolymerization are strong materials that have great mechanical strength and durability. They can be made from affordable raw materials. Its full hardness is reached within a few hours at temperatures between 50 and 80 degrees Celsius. This option combines the use of soil (silt), a low cost material with high environmental quality, and the chemical production of high-strength blocks, with a lesser environmental impact compared to those produced using Portland cement. The BSG can become a favorable component in the development of sustainable cities whose nonrenewable resources are being diminished. This study presents partial results of the investigation.
