Resumen

Abstract

The Play and Punish project is the result of a two-year creation process during the master's degree in visual arts at the National University of Colombia. The conceptual and formal proposal of the project seeks to make visible the ideas of play and punishment as formative elements from the individual's early childhood to adulthood. Play and Punish raises two problems or central axes, the duality between play and punishment, education and work, the plastic commitment of the project focuses on choosing two key spaces in this training process: the home and the school. Two institutions where these concepts are exemplified. Through two installations, these two spaces are built, a kindergarten or primary school classroom and the interior of a house or home configured as a room or room with a specific temporality: a house from the mid-20th century. This text attempts to collect a large part of the creation process, the problems, the sketches, the questions and hypotheses, while describing the stages of the creative process: behind the scenes of a difficult path to travel: an interior journey to the psyche. The text consists of five pillars or chapters that have a chronological but non-linear sense, based on a structure given by the vowels a,e,i,o,u.
