Abstract: This paper shows the results of a research carried out as a requirement for a master degree. The main objective of the research was to enhance the appropiation process of the knowledge proposed by Expedición Currículo that emerge from seventh grade students at I.E Jesus Maria El Rosal, in Castilla, since it has been evident that the lack of solution to the problem questions, in addition to the low academic performance and the conformism with the minimum passing grade to the subject, all generate demotivation towards meaningful learning of natural sciences. For those reasons, it becomes necessary an intervention through an educative action such as Problem-Based Learning methodology (PBL). This strategy allows students to learn by phases such as the activation of knowledge and analysis, the research and study, the problem solving, the presentation to the class and the evaluation, by making an emphasis in the development of reading comprehension skills and small groups work. The results of this work were analyzed with descriptive statistics which allowed to show through this methodology how to improve the teaching and to achieve a better quality in these learnings.
