dc.description.abstractBackground: The cultural and compassionate competence reflects the ability of nurses and nursing assistants to recognize the patient's suffering and respond to their needs taking into account the cultural context. However, although the policy mentions its importance, in the Colombian context there are no specific guidelines that guide training in these issues. Objective: To develop and carry out the preliminary evaluation (acceptability, feasibility and effect) of a training intervention in cultural and compassionate competence for nurses and nursing assistants in hospitalization services. Methodology: Study for the design of interventions, for which an investigation was carried out with a mixed, sequential and concurrent approach, in two phases: 1) Modeling of the intervention, which included an integrative systematic review of the literature and descriptive qualitative study; 2) Pilot test of the training intervention, in which a quasi-experimental study was conducted with a concurrent mixed approach. From ethical considerations, I study without risk in the first phase, and with minimal risk in the second phase. Results: The systematic integrative review addressed two issues through the selection of 42 and 38 articles on care experiences and on nurses' training in this regard, which allowed us to recognize how compassion and culturally consistent care are expressed in practice. elements that result in challenges and opportunities for this city, as well as its effects on professionals and patients. Likewise, we found diversity of training developed mainly in Anglo-Saxon countries. Therefore, qualitative descriptive research allowed contextualizing the evidence found and operationalizing the design of the training intervention. The evaluation of this intervention was attended by professionals and assistants from two hospitals in Bogotá (one public and one private), it began with 33 participants in the first session, a number that was variable until it ended with 13 participants. The pretest-posttest evaluation reflected positive changes in the acceptability of the intervention, understanding, attraction and induction to the action. Experiences during meditation practices in compassion were well valued and applicability of the contents and practices in care was found, as well as perceived effects of well-being. Conclusions: The conceptualization phase of the problem and the intervention allowed to determine the need for culturally competent and compassionate nursing care, the central place of compassion in the process of developing this competence as well as approaching different approaches oriented to nurses, with strategies of diverse intervention, in which contemplative practices of full attention and compassion are incorporated that allow people to take care of themselves to take care of others, recognizing their cultural peculiarities and manifestations of suffering. An intervention was built, in which components of an existing intervention are adapted, to contextualize it to the reality of nurses and nursing assistants in hospitals in Bogotá. The preliminary evaluation of the intervention allowed to determine that its implementation and formal test is acceptable and feasible, that its support materials are appropriate, attractive and understandable, as well as effects perceived as beneficial for the participants and potentially for the patients.spa
dc.description.abstractIntroducción: La competencia cultural y compasiva refleja la capacidad de enfermeras y auxiliares de enfermería para reconocer el sufrimiento del paciente y responder a sus necesidades teniendo en cuenta el contexto cultural. Sin embargo, pese a que la política menciona su importancia, en el contexto colombiano no se cuentan con lineamientos específicos que orienten el entrenamiento en estos temas Objetivo: Desarrollar y realizar la evaluación preliminar (aceptabilidad, factibilidad y efecto) de una intervención de entrenamiento en competencia cultural y compasiva para enfermeras y auxiliares de enfermería de servicios de hospitalización. Metodología: Estudio para el diseño de intervenciones, para lo cual se realizó una investigación con abordaje mixto, secuencial y concurrente, en dos fases: 1) Modelado de la intervención, que incluyó revisión sistemática integrativa de la literatura y estudio cualitativo descriptivo; 2) Prueba piloto de la intervención de entrenamiento, en la que se realizó un estudio cuasi-experimental con abordaje mixto concurrente. Desde las consideraciones éticas, estudio sin riesgo en la primera fase, y con riesgo mínimo en la segunda fase. Resultados: La revisión sistemática integrativa abordó dos temas a través de la selección de 42 y 38 artículos sobre las experiencias de cuidado y sobre entrenamientos de enfermeras al respecto, que permitieron reconocer cómo se expresan la compasión y el cuidado culturalmente congruente en la práctica, aquellos elementos que resultan en desafíos y oportunidades para este cuidad, así como sus efectos en profesionales y pacientes. Así mismo, se encontraron diversidad de entrenamientos desarrollados principalmente en países anglosajones. Por lo tanto, la investigación cualitativa descriptiva permitió contextualizar las evidencias encontradas y operacionalizar el diseño de la intervención de entrenamiento. La evaluación de esta intervención contó con la participación de profesionales y auxiliares de dos hospitales de Bogotá (uno público y uno privado), se comenzó con 33 participantes en la primera sesión, número que fue variable hasta finalizar con 13 participantes. La evaluación pretest-postest reflejó cambios positivos en cuanto a la aceptabilidad de la intervención, comprensión, atracción e inducción a la acción. Las experiencias durante las prácticas de meditación en compasión fueron bien valoradas y se encontró aplicabilidad de los contenidos y prácticas en el cuidado, así como efectos percibidos de bienestar. Conclusiones: La fase de conceptualización del problema y la intervención permitió determinar la necesidad de cuidados de enfermería culturalmente competentes y compasivos, el lugar central de la compasión en el proceso de desarrollo de esta competencia así como aproximarse a diferentes abordajes orientados a enfermeras, con estrategias de intervención diversas, en las que se incorporan prácticas contemplativas de atención plena y compasión que permiten a las personas cuidar de sí para cuidar de otros, reconociendo sus particularidades culturales y las manifestaciones del sufrimiento. Se construyó una intervención, en la que se adaptan componentes de una intervención ya existente, para contextualizarla a la realidad de enfermeras y auxiliares de enfermería en hospitales de Bogotá. La evaluación preliminar de la intervención permitió determinar que su implementación y prueba formal es aceptable y factible, que sus materiales de apoyo son apropiados, atractivos y comprensibles, así como efectos percibidos como benéficos para los participantes y potencialmente para los sujetos de cuidado.spa
