This has prompted the need to expand studies on risk and protective factors for its development. The evidence, although inconclusive, has suggested a vegetarian diet as a dietary pattern that reduces the risk of developing this disease. This paper presents a narrative review, presenting a condensed and updated analysis. While no specific vegetarian or vegan diet is recommended, it suggests adopting a plant-based diet with quality foods that maintain adequate hormonal balance, a body mass index, and a healthy microbiome, which together promote anti-carcinogenic molecular mechanisms.eng
