dc.description.abstractEste trabajo evalúa la influencia del diseño de interfaces de usuario (UI) en plataformas de comercio electrónico y servicios de comida a domicilio en Bogotá, sobre las decisiones de consumo ambientalmente irresponsables y el impacto de la integración de opciones ecológicas en la generación de residuos plásticos de un solo uso y embalajes. Tratando puntualmente el caso de la plataforma Rappi, se mide a través de un experimento de test A/B con seguimiento ocular, las diferentes decisiones de consumo al comparar una interfaz con opciones ecológicas y otra sin ellas. El estudio involucró a usuarios de plataformas de comida a domicilio en Bogotá, analizando la forma en que los elementos específicos del diseño en forma de Nudge (empujoncitos), como la visibilidad de alternativas; los incentivos o las opciones predeterminadas, afectan el comportamiento de los consumidores. Los resultados demostraron que el diseño de la interfaz tiene un papel importante en las elecciones de los usuarios, además la inclusión de opciones ecológicas tiene el potencial de promover decisiones sostenibles y reducir la generación de residuos. Por último, se concluye que es crucial desarrollar un diseño que fomente el consumo responsable y trate de disminuir el impacto ambiental del comercio electrónico. (Texto tomado de la fuente).spa
dc.description.abstractThis study evaluates the influence of user interface (UI) design in e-commerce platforms and food delivery services in Bogotá on environmentally irresponsible consumption decisions, and the impact of integrating ecological options on the generation of single-use plastic waste and packaging. Focusing specifically on the case of the Rappi platform, the research measures different consumption decisions through an A/B test experiment using eye-tracking technology, comparing an interface with ecological options and one without them. The study involved users of food delivery platforms in Bogotá and analyzed how specific design elements in the form of nudges such as the visibility of alternatives, incentives, or default options influence consumer behavior. The results showed that interface design plays a significant role in user choices, and that the inclusion of ecological options has the potential to promote sustainable decisions and reduce waste generation. Finally, the study concludes that it is essential to develop interface designs that encourage responsible consumption and aim to mitigate the environmental impact of e-commerce.eng
