El objetivo de tal estilo es recuperar la ‘experiencia’, pero nada menos que la experiencia, e instaurar un ‘mundo común’. dc.description.abstractIt could be said that the most popular dimensions of Bruno Latour’s work are, on the one hand, the sociology of science and technology (STS) and, on the other hand, the ecological thought (Gaia hypothesis). However, the aim of this thesis is to adress another dimension that is as important as the previous ones, namely the ontological or metaphysical thought. The necessity of the ontology in Latour’s work derives from the historical and conceptual problem that Alfred N. Whitehead called the Bifurcation of Nature. This problem would have generated gnoseological (i), anthropological (ii) and political difficulties (iii). In order to escape this situation, Latour developed various ‘ontological bets’, such as the ‘experimental monadology’ of his early phase (early Latour), or the ‘plurivocal pluralism’ (late Latour) of his late phase. It is possible to articulate these bets in terms of the ‘radical empiricism’, a ‘style’ of studying the things and phenomena that this text seeks to associate with the image of Janus, the two-faced Roman deity. This is the history of the repetitions of Janus. The aim of this style is to recover the experience, but nothing less than experience, and to instaurate a ‘common world’.eng
