Abstract
This work is carried out with students from the rural sector of the Municipality of Arauquita, at the San José de la Pesquera Educational Institution. The population under study are sixth grade and eleventh grade students. Through the discursive genres of biography and autobiography, the vital experiences of the members of the educational community are addressed. First, the characteristics of the autobiographical genre and its contributions to education are exposed. Especially the process developed by the National University of Colombia is taken into account, through the Decennial Education Plan for the Municipality of Arauquita and other educational contexts in which the autobiography has been useful. The role of the autobiography in the referents of the Ministry of National Education and other experiences developed in the country is recognized. The educational contexts of the students of San José de la Pesquera are also addressed and some of the autobiographical accounts are analyzed, as well as accounts of various members of the community. Afterwards, the life project of the students is addressed, through the experiences that have been developed in other contexts, as well as the contributions of the Decennial Education Plan for the Municipality of Arauquita.
