Resumen
A finales del siglo XIX e inicios del XX, Colombia se preparaba para recibir la modernidad e ingresar al mercado mundial a través de la explotación de sus recursos naturales; paralelamente, se daba el proceso de definición de las fronteras internacionales en la Amazonía, un territorio en disputa con Brasil y Perú. Con lo anterior como contexto, este trabajo de investigación busca entender la manera en la que el Estado colombiano imaginó, planeó, colonizó e integró al Estado nacional el municipio de Mitú a partir del estudio de la geografía, la cartografía y la infraestructura, entendiéndola como una representación del Estado. Finalmente, a partir de entrevistas realizadas a mituseños, se evalúan las consecuencias de la fundación de Mitú como enclave geopolítico del Estado colombiano en la frontera oriental con Brasil (Texto tomado de la fuente).
Abstract
At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, Colombia was preparing to receive modernity and enter the world market through the exploitation of its natural resources. At the same time, the process of defining international borders in the Amazon was taking place, a territory in dispute with Brazil and Peru. With the above as context, this research work seeks to understand the way in which the Colombian State imagined, planned, colonized and integrated the city of Mitú into the national-State based on the study of geography, cartography and infrastructure, understanding it as a representation of the State. Finally, based on interviews with local people, the consequences of the founding of Mitú as a geopolitical enclave of the Colombian State are evaluated.
