Manekone Karijona esemarï tae “Vamos por el camino carijona” es un proyecto impulsado por la comunidad del Resguardo Indígena de Puerto Nare (Guaviare), orientado al fortalecimiento cultural, territorial y lingüístico del pueblo Carijona, el último grupo de filiación caribe que habita la Amazonia colombiana. Esta iniciativa nace como respuesta a las afectaciones históricas causadas por la violencia armada, la economía del caucho y del narcotráfico, y las aspersiones aéreas con glifosato que deterioraron el ecosistema y la vida comunitaria. A raíz de estos hechos, en 2017 la Corte Constitucional ordenó la reparación integral del pueblo Carijona (Sentencia T-080). En este contexto, y con apoyo del Pilar Indígena del Programa Visión Amazonía (PIVA) del Ministerio de Ambiente y de la Fundación Tropenbos Colombia, la comunidad emprendió un proceso participativo que involucró recorridos, talleres, investigación colaborativa y creación de materiales educativos y culturales. El proyecto no solo recupera conocimientos ancestrales, sino que fortalece la lengua karijona, recoge prácticas ecológicas sostenibles, y da inicio a un proceso de revitalización desde la voz misma del pueblo.

Manekone Karijona esemarï tae “Let’s follow the Carijona path” is a community-led project developed by the Indigenous Reserve of Puerto Nare (Guaviare), focused on strengthening the cultural, territorial, and linguistic identity of the Carijona people, the last Cariban-affiliated group residing in the Colombian Amazon. The project emerged in response to historical harm caused by armed conflict, the rubber and drug economies, and aerial glyphosate spraying, all of which contributed to environmental degradation and the disruption of community life. In 2017, the Constitutional Court of Colombia ordered comprehensive reparations for the Carijona people (Ruling T-080). With the support of the Indigenous Pillar of the Amazon Vision Program (PIVA) under the Ministry of Environment, and the Tropenbos Colombia Foundation, the community initiated a participatory process involving local journeys, collaborative research, workshops, and the development of educational and cultural materials. The initiative seeks not only to preserve ancestral knowledge and the Karijona language, but also to promote sustainable ecological practices and support a revitalization process led by the community itself.
