Prácticas y rituales agrícolas wayuu. Recomendaciones para la organización Acción contra el Hambre

Abstract

El presente texto, que se inscribe dentro de la perspectiva de la antropología social, es un trabajo de indagación acerca de los hitos que han moldeado la seguridad alimentaria y nutricional del pueblo wayuu. Se realizó una revisión documental, así como la aplicación de grupos focales y entrevistas semi-estructuradas, con el objetivo de discutir los factores que inciden en la seguridad alimentaria y nutricional de la población wayuu y la problematización que de esta hacen los participantes del proyecto Yanama que lleva adelante la organización Acción contra el Hambre. Los resultados ponen en evidencia, la alta dependencia que existe de los proyectos de ayuda humanitaria, la necesidad de contar con agua permanente como recurso fundamental para alcanzar la seguridad alimentaria y nutricional, y la pérdida de prácticas y rituales agrícolas. Se concluye que la pluralidad de ontologías que hoy conviven con la ontología wayuu han tenido una gran influencia en el cambio de patrones alimentarios y de siembra. El texto realiza una serie de recomendaciones a la organización, con el objetivo de fortalecer las capacidades y recursos propios del territorio. (Texto tomado de la fuente)

This text, which is part of the perspective of social anthropology, is a work of inquiry about the milestones that have shaped the food and nutritional security of the Wayuu people. A documentary review was carried out, as well as the application of focus groups and semi-structured interviews, in order to discuss the factors that affect the food and nutritional security of the Wayuu population and the problematization that the participants of the Yanama Project, carried out by the organization Action Against Hunger, make of it. The results show the high dependence that exists on humanitarian aid projects, the need for permanent water as a fundamental resource to achieve food and nutritional security, and the loss of agricultural practices and rituals. It is concluded that the plurality of ontologies that today coexist with the Wayuu ontology have had a great influence on the change of food and planting patterns. The text makes a series of recommendations to the organization, with the aim of strengthening the capacities and resources of the territory. (Text taken from source)
